“A man in his office experiences one of his daily earthquakes…“
In our third year of animation school, we had to create a short film in teams, and our group came up with a simple yet surreal concept: a man in his office going about his day when suddenly, an earthquake strikes. At first, it seems like a typical disaster scenario—until we realize that for him, this is just another Tuesday. As the chaos unfolds, it’s revealed that his entire world is actually perched on the back of a massive raccoon.
I worked on multiple aspects of the project, starting with pre-production (storyboard, character & environment design), where I focused on designing our main character, Philibert, crafting the look of his cluttered office space and doing the whole short animatic. During production, I contributed to modeling props, sculpting Philibert, animating key sequences, and even handling the earthquake simulation. Finally, in post-production, I helped with editing to bring everything together into a polished, cohesive short.
It was a challenging but rewarding experience, blending humor with technical problem-solving to create something truly unique.
